Wigman has been tasting at home and abroad for more than 30 years. Michiel shares knowledge and has been building a network for years all over the world. He now also likes to share this passion in connecting taste and knowledge with you. Below you will get to know some of his favourites!
But generally spoken there is not a real favourite. It depends too much on the occasion, the mood you are in and who you are drinking with. Drinking whisky is pure emotion. There are for Michiel three main directions. Bourbon, sherry and peat.

Bourbon
Within the bourbon range some of his most favourite are:
- Longmorn 1969 (various expressions from Gordon Macphails cask series and book of kelts 1969
- North port 1974 61,1% sestante
- Glenglassaugh 1967 signatory silent stills
- Glenugie 1967 sestante cask strength
- Springbank 12 samaroli 57,1%
Sherry
Within the sherry cask range some of his most favourite are:
- Glenlossie 1974 “ il Padre” intertrade 58,5%
- Milton duff spinola 1966 61,4%
- Longmorn 1974 60,8% Samaroli
- Strathisla 1967 57% Samaroli
- Macallan 1954 Rinaldi import 80 proof
Peat
Within the peated cask range some of his most favourite are:
- Bowmore 1966 whiskyfreunden Essenheim 42,3%
- Bowmore 1966 duncan taylor 43,4%
- Ardbeg sestante 1978 11 year (convinced me long time ago that peated whisky was drinkable)
- Ardbeg 1974 – 2000 kingsburry 50%
- Caol Ila 15 year 57% Bulloch Lade
